COMPANY’S HISTORY
Auto Trade Ltd. bought the automotive division in September 1994 from Springfield
Trading (1959) Ltd. with a group of thirteen employees. At its inception Auto
Trade Ltd became the sole Dealership in Dominica for Nissan and Suzuki vehicles
The frame-work of the Company was then built around four departments; Vehicle
Sales, Spare Parts, Service and Accounts and was well positioned to be the No1
Service Provider for the motoring public.
In 1999 Amerijet Int’l Inc business in Dominica was acquired and in the
year 2000 became a section of Dominica Freights System that also included E-zone,
Puerto Freights and International Transportation Network, thus ensuring that
our shipping department was well established. During the years of 2000 to 2002
our Industrial Equipment Dept was added to our now fast growing Company, and
the dealership for Bobcat, Stone Industrial Equipment and NTN Bearings was subsequently
procured. This Department catered for the needs of the construction and manufacturing
sector. From a modest beginning of thirteen (13) employees in 1994, the Company
moved into its own facility on January 19th, 2004 with a staff of about eighty
employees.
Our vision is that the Company becomes and maintains the position of No1 Service
Provider in the Automotive, Industrial and Shipping sectors of Dominica. To
accomplish this we must first understand our purpose; what business we are in.
Second, have a picture of what the future would look like when we achieve our
goal as the No1 Service Provider. And third, our values; how we would want our
employees to behave when they are working on the Company’s purpose and
picture of the future.
So, our vision is clear and all important. It tells people both internally and
externally who we are – our purpose, where we are going – our picture
of the future, and what will guide our journey – our values.
With this understanding the Company becomes customer-focused; therefore we set
our sights on the following:
1. Be the provider of choice and take care of our customers.
2. We shall be the employer of choice and create a motivating environment for
our employees.
3. We would have investment of choice that would ensure the profitability of
the company.
