Kia

Kia Corporation, commonly known as Kia, is a South Korean multinational automotive manufacturer headquartered in Seoul. It is South Korea's second-largest automobile manufacturer following the Hyundai Motor Company, with sales of over 2.8 million vehicles in 2019.

Kia was founded in December 1944 as Kyungsung Precision Industry, a manufacturer of steel tubing and bicycle parts, which eventually produced Korea's first domestic bicycle. In 1998, the Hyundai Motor Company became the majority shareholder, holding one-third of the Kia Corporation.

Kia will show you “the power to surprise” with dynamic and exciting experiences that go beyond your expectations. Kia brings a new beat to the global auto industry through its ever-vibrant growth. Like a beat of music that touches your heart, Kia strives to make your life richer every day.

Did you know that KIA stands for “Korean International Automotive"? However, the acronym Kia is derived from two Korean symbols (“ki” and “a”) that is roughly translated as "Rising from the East.”
